We were on our way back up to NJ from DC. Going through Maryland, you have to think of crabs so we “had to” stop by here and try the local fare. I love the fact that it’s a family owned restaurant , not a chain place. Tables are lined in brown paper so you can pound on your shellfish and eat right on the table if you like.
I started with a crab bisque—rich, thick, creamy, and full of lump meat crab. As shared sides, we had an order of hush puppies and onion rings. I then had a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing, dried cranberries and sliced almonds. My main course was a platter of fried oysters, sea scallops and sweet potatoes. All good. The side of cole slaw was not to my liking—it was ok but I just like the one from KFC too much.
The rest of my family had Alaskan King crab, a lump crab topped salad, and a crab cake.
If you’re in northern Maryland or happened to be driving on I-95, take exit 100 and follow the signs to this place. It’s worth the effort.
